theres always at least a film and digital leica in my arsenal. at present theres a m9, m6 millenium, black m3, cl and r7 in my possesion. with the falling values of these and all my leica lenses i do wonder what the new ceo has in mind? it used to be leicas appreciated in value. i hope this remains the case

I own a IIIf although I must confess that I rarely use it. My Rollei MX gets a bit more use but the film workhorse is a Canon EF. However, the bulk of my stuff is on digital though.

Hi Cal,

It's a tank. Build quality like Leica M2,3,4. Elemental. Bright viewfinder.
I was able to buy this camera with lens for much less than an M 50 Summicron lens of same vintage alone.

Frank,

Thanks for the GAS. LOL.

Yesterday I bought a black SL2-MOT in excelent condition from Adorama for $279.00. The camera still had inspection sticker residue that I had to remove.

This retro camera brinds me back into 1975. You are correct about the build quality and the VF'er.

The new Leica total is now 6.

Amazing... I had a 63 1/3 Falcon convertible as well.
Mine was a "Sprint" with the 289 and 4speed.
"Lost it in the fire" (divorce).

sorry to say i was not 'into' cars as a kid...no idea what was under the hood.
the horn on the steering wheel didn't work so i rigged up an old fashioned doorbell on the dash...the only thing that worked well consistently on that car was the electric convertible top.

i had a ford falcon convertible...63 i think it was...the motor mounts kept popping off...

Joe,

My "Ratmobile" was a lowly 4-door.

Like a brassed out Leica the rust and faded paint made kinda a beautiful patina of Maroon and rusted bare metal. LOL.

Earlier in my life I also had a 1960 Ford Falcon 4-door, also a "Ratmobile." Funny thing is that I owned and drove these cars a long time. This Falcon featured pneumatic windshield wipers that under full excelleration made the wipers stop due to loss of vacuum. Accellerating onto a parkway during a downpour meant literally was like flying blind. The lack of accelleration from the modest 6 cylander added excitement and further life threatening challenge.

For a good part of my life I was king of the $200.00 car.

I did not have a Ford Falcon, but I drove an AMC Hornet! I always had in the car some carburetor cleaning spray to get the Hornet to start again after one of its many sudden deaths. It had a sleek 6 cylinder engine, and it could accelerate quite well.

A student in my class then called it "Blue $hit". It was blue ...

Owned? Yes, 3.
Own currently? No 🙁
Will own in the future? Probably. I've owned/used an M3 and still can't get it out of my head.
