Hi Raid!

Great poll/gear thread you have here. Been using, collecting and trading Leicas for quite some time now. Interest has been growing a whole lot here in my community the past year ever since the Leica Store opened. Here's a list of some Leica cameras from my personal collection:

CL Jahre
M4 Black Paint
M4-P
M5 Black Chrome
M5 Chrome Jahre
M6-J
M6 TTL LHSA .85
MP Chrome .85
M8
M240

Truly fortunate to have these in my collection and at the same time...shoot with them of course.

Here's the inventory rioght now:

MP 0.72 chrome chrome Leicavit
M6 Millenium 0.72
M6 TTl black chrome 0.58
M6 black chrome Wetzlar (1987)
M2-R
M2 button rewind/no self timer
M2 lever rewind/no self timer
M3 DS with modern shutter speeds
IIIG
IIIf red dial/self timer with SYOOM
IIIf red dial/no self timer
IId

All get used, some more than others.

And now I want a black chrome M-A with the black chrome 50mm Summilux lens.

Got a new M6TTL in 2000, a beat iiif RD in 2009 (since sold, took me too long to focus every shot), an M8.2 in 2011 (since sold), an M2-S in 2012 (since sold), and an M3 DS in 2013 (since sold). Still got the M6TTL and lust for an M-A, but that may have to wait for a while.

Nice cameras.

Best,
-Tim

I was about to vote "no," but then I realized that I have a iiic I bought off the Bay that has never worked. I have always meant to fix it, but money's tight, so it's back up on the Bay currently.

Lot of people complain about their cameras but I am only complaining about my photography instead.
I am considering my cameras as tools and
when I got my M6 I think it has helped me to change my photography since and i can see the consistency of them changed in to a higher level so I never changed my camera and I had aded a M8.2U and I am very happy about both. I have 3 Cron lenses and that's all I need . Perhaps one day Monochrome Older version will join the tools .

I wrote "all will be reveled" . The truth is after receiving a Leica iiif red dial I somehow was infected by Leica fever! While I was "under" I must have been on the net! A pristine Leica iif red dial with a like-new leather case showed up at my door!! !! !!! Good thing the little woman happen to be out of town . One will carry a Nikkor 28cm 1=1:3.5 the other will be sporting a 5cm f=1:1.5 CZJ .

That sort of thing happens a lot. They breed like very expensive rabbits.

What you want to do is to go for something like the Ektra in my avatar, which had only one model and very few lenses and accessories. At least there may be an end to it, although I will probably never be able to buy the nearly unobtainable 153mm lens!

Cheers,
Dez

They do breed. Put one in the safe, close the door and the next time you look in there are two or more.

I think I counted I'd had 13 or 14 film M's since 68. I currently have an M2 I've had for a long time, MP a la carte, M4-P and CL. I'll probably stick with this kit. It fits my needs perfectly. I've gone full circle from film to digital and back to film. I'm afraid that's where my heart is.

I'll probably make one more change in lenses. I'm recreating the gear I used in the 60's and just bought a 21SA. Most likely I'll sell my 24 Elmar. It's just too perfect if there is such a thing.

I currently have two M4s and a IIIa. It's an interesting question because three times I have sold all my Leica stuff and regretted it. First, a IIIf, next two M3s, then an M4-2 and M2. The first two times I was burned out and absolutely sure I was done with photography. The most recent time I gave up film for digital. Every time I was wrong, obviously.

Currently own a 1f, a M3, and a 0.58x M6TTL. I am really happy with this set of bodies and carry all three when traveling because I like to shoot several different focal length lenses but don't like changing lenses...

Just bought my first one, 1963 M3 made in the same quarter as my birth. Along with a Voightlander 25mm, 50mm, and 90mm Elmar.

I generally shoot 4x5 and was looking for something to take along for extra shots. I had heard about people using Leica lenses on Sony bodies, which got me looking. I originally bought a Bessa R3M with a 50mm F2 heliar so that gave me the RF GAS .

Wonderful cameras owned by this group and some nice collections. As for me I am out. I recently traded my M8 and M9 and some lenses for a pair of Rolleiflexes. Just can't shake that medium format love...
