I just started putting some photos up on Flickr and I must admit it's pretty nice for what I pay now - which is nothing. I haven't seen much of a 'community' there yet but that may just be me not looking hard enough.

Anyway, my flickr site is at: Rich Silfver's Flickr Site

Who else from RFF is on Flickr? (Provide links as well) 🙂

there's lots of community on flickr. you're just not looking hard enough!!! 😉

it's a good site with some excellent people on it. as is this one.

Would love to know how they select "Interestingness".

"There are lots of things that make a photo 'interesting' (or not) in the Flickr. Where the clickthroughs are coming from; who comments on it and when; who marks it as a favorite; its tags and many more things which are constantly changing."

Is it just me who finds flickr the most chaotic site around .... ?
THe whole structure is too much for me..!
I look there once in a while but this kept me from joining.

Flickr is even more diverse then RFF. Since its not solely RF oriented it attracts people from everywhere of all ages. No one seems to mind if members want to post in their own language or in English. Jim

i like altphotos more.

Out of any on-line photo community - altphotos.com used to be the one that consistently was of highest quality.

Edit: I went back and looked around - and yes, I'd say it's still the photo community out there with the best overall photos. Often amazing stuff from a lot of east european photographers.

ironically, once you join and set up an account, the organization is handled differently, and it becomes (at least somewhat) easier to navigate
