Do you Flickr?

There are plenty of good photographers on flickr that more than make up for the garbage..

I love Flickr.
There are lots of communities on it. Especially for street photography: I feel like the Internet and Flickr in particular brought it back to life and allow the few street photographers to gather.
Last week-end I went shooting with someone I met on Flickr.
It does take a little time and effort to connect with people but if you post decent stuff and hang out in the right groups, I think the experience could be quite good and sometimes addictive.

I started using Flickr to have somewhere to dump non-rangefinder images that I wanted to share, but it turned out to be useful for more than that.

Look at my previous post (#43), there are 2 groups I like, including one I just started.

I don't know if you like the same kind of stuff as me but a starting point could be look at my contacts, look at their stuff, look at their own contacts. Same process with the favorites and groups. You'll end up noticing people you like, then mark them at contacts and post your pics in groups; not too many but in some you think are interesting and edited.

It takes a little time but I think it is worth the effort if you want some feedback.

Just "wander around" Flickr would be my advice, there is a lot of crap -the vast majority- but there is also really amazing stuff.

Yep, adding contacts and commenting on other's work is the best way to get started.

You have only a few pictures uploaded and there are some definitely worthy of comments. But it takes more than that.
You have no contacts and no favorites. It is kinda difficult to find people on Flickr, so you got to promote yourself a little and do what you'd like people to do on your images: leave comments (good or bad), show what kind of pictures you like through your groups and favorites...etc...
I mean, it's like everything else, if you don't show interest, others won't. And I think that's normal.
