Before this all goes pear shaped let's not forget that to many people guns are a device for target/sport shooting. I'm not into them at all personally but I can appreciate that they do have uses other than a tool of violence.
I do think that placing images of them in this thread is inviting trouble though! (seriously)

The OP asked for vices. Vices should invite trouble, eh?

It doesn't bother me at all what is in any thread to be honest because we don't have to look at or read anything that offends us ... one click of the mouse and it's gone.
I'm just remembering the last thread that involved firearms and how 'well' it went!
Call me paranoid! LOL

Getting back on topic ... smoking!
Though that's fast becoming becoming a vice that can empty your pockets faster than being the Leica Man!
And I can't help remembing that 'The Marlboro Man' ultimately succumbed to the effects of this particular vice!

Ha! Yes, me too. I used to travel the world for it. My most memorable was definitely the Dresden Olympiad in 2008 when I live-blogged the event. I used to write one of the most popular blogs on the game.
Then the real highlight to my brief chess career was to have written an article for New In Chess magazine.
Oh, I like suits as well. But, like cameras, I can't afford really nice ones.

I like my cars British, my bikes Italian, and my cameras German.
Yet, I am an American. I was born on the wrong side of the pond.

Watches - they have much in common with cameras having gone through a transition from mechanical masterpieces to electronic wonders. My oldest watch is a family piece from around 1903, and my newest is last week's Breguet.

Brewing beer, and drinking anything I can safely ferment.
Ah, a person after my own heart. I've recently got the Sake bug as well as the pen bug. They both sound harmless unless you drink too much and start bidding on $1K+ pens

Whoa! Whoa, cowboy.
Whoa! Whoa, cowboy.
Okay, I know you're kidding, but I don't think we should encourage people to shoot people who are carrying cameras. If you don't want your picture taken, just ask them nicely not to take your picture or turn away. No need to get violent.

Guns suck, unless of course your insecure. Shoot someone with a camera, it's more fun.

Russel, I think he meant:
Shoot someone with a camara as in "take someone's picture with a camera"
Not that the user of the camera should be shot.
Oh those semantics!

Hacking my smartphone. Luckily I've given up trying to flash the newest builds of Android 4.0 until a stable release happens, as the current ones have a few bugs
Also.. I only own one, but I really like Scandanavian knives (and furniture and clothing for that matter):
I use it for everything: work, camping, cooking, etc.
Oh yeah.. and as far as cameras go, this might be some kind of record.
I've bought, used, and sold these cameras:
Pentax *ist DS
Panasonic Lumix DC-3
Canon 40D
Canon 400D
Konica Auto S3
Olympus XA
Olympus Stylus Epic
Fuji Klasse S
Bessa R3A
Bessa R2A
Zeiss Ikon ZM
Leica M6 TTL
I currently do not own a camera, but will buy a CLE soon. That will be the last camera I buy for a very long time.
Oh, and did I mention I'm only 23?

ha, other vices, where do I stop?
Lots of this
Just one of these
Then there's vinyl, Jacobean and Georgian mezzotints, English work boots...
And quite a lot of these...
My only excuse: they all get used.

Sailing is my other primary outdoor activity - one reason why I've not got an M9 + Summilux asph is that I spent the same money on a (small, old) yacht, which is my true pride and joy.
I also have a bit of a thing about fountain pens - much more affordable than either.
I used to like older cars, but my appetite was satisified when I had a Bristol and hasn't returned since I sold it.

No vices. I cannot afford to collect expensive things, nor can I afford to smoke, drink, use drugs, or chase women.
I cannot afford this either but I still smoke a lot (cigarettes and pipes), drink of course, no drugs and no chasing women - they chase me
I also do a studio jazz recordings - I play/have tenor, soprano and baritone saxes, Akai EWI (I have all of them) thru my big set-up of analog synthesizers... I guess my cheapest vice is the epee fencing, but lately I don't have much time for it...
Nope... only have enough cash to have GAS attacks on one hobby at a time.

Vices as in obsessions? Well, no then, just camera related stuff. That is limited by income, something that is true for most of us here I'm sure. I particularly like mechanical cameras that don't need batteries to work. All those little springs and gears are pretty and make soothing sounds when they operate.

Perhaps you should consider explore one of the above mentioned upon occasion. All work and no play . . .
