Do you leave the adapter with your screw mount lens?

I just purchased a 35mm Classic Skopar from Camera Quest and I am very happy with the results so far. The lens looks much better built in person than in the Camera Quest website! What a bargain.

Since this is my first screw mount lens (my other lens is a 50 cron), I initially had difficulty mounting the lens. I initially installed the adapter to the body first, then screwed the skopar into the adapter. I had difficulty doing this at first at it seems the lens was hitting a roller in front of the camera opening (?). I got the hang of it after several tries -- ever so careful not to destroy the camera while screwing the lens in (if that is even possible) 😀

Anyways, since I only have one CV lens, I just leave the adapter on it full time for easier lens swapping.

Just curious, for those of you who have multiple screw mount lenses, do you have an adapter for each?

I usually leave the adaptor on the lens but I have fewer adaptors than lenses (or more screwmount lenses than adaptors) so sometimes I have to switch.

I leave them on. Its a bit more expensive that way and convenience is part of it, but I also need the right adapter on the lens to bring up the correct framelines on my M bodies.

I have one screw-mount lens (a VC 15mm Heliar) with an M adapter. I was using it one day and the lens kept unscrewing while on my M6 - out of frustration I decided to mate the set permanently with rubber cement. Now I have no issues with the M adapter coming lose and the adapter is square on the center of the DOF scale.

I shoot with a mixture of M mount and screw mount cameras, so depending upon what camera(s) I am taking out with me that day I decide which lens has an adapter mounted and which doesn't. I never mount the adapter directly onto the M mount camera since I have a mixture of M & screw mount lenses to choose from.

With my M3 I had five screw lenses and three adapters. As one lens was never used and one was used seldom, three lenses had adaptors on them always. Did not need to make the attachment semi permanent as John and Bill have done.

I've got two LTM lenses, two adapters..

Oh, and a single brain cell..

I can think of no other explanation why I've one adapter stored away, and why I'm swapping the other between the two lenses all the time.
