How do I get a DAG black dot?

could care less one way or another. I own a M3 which has no red dot, would love to own a M6 someday (which has the little red dot). It's what's attached to the red dot that matters.

I love it. I'm planning on painting the front door to my house the exact same color.

One day I hate the red dot, and on another day I see it similar to Art Deco, as an artistic statement.

My Red Dot Glows For You
I've been asking for one for over two years, and they've never arrived. Unfortunately, I think he's stretched too thin; I have put on hold my decision to send a few lenses to him, for fear of them being held for three or four months, only to get to them hurriedly and not doing a thorough job (my last two lenses were like that); each time I also asked again about the black dots. Never sent.ErikFive said:Order one here:

If any of you get them, let me know exactly how you ordered them.

As a brand logo, I like the red dot. Even small it really catches my eye and surely it transports the idea of quality for the knowing.
As of the camera body, however, like Erik I am leaning more to a camera w/o any brand specific marks (I'd tolerate a serial number, though
). This is not really for hiding the brand from the public. I just like the kind of reduced design.

Ned, this poll and thread have been worth the time and effort just for this gem! Thanks!etrigan63 said:I've come to realize that not noticing stuff is a Y-chromosome thing. Men have to work hard at it. Women, on the other hand, notice everything.
Case in point: I am walking down the street with my wife and a good looking twentysomething girl walks in the opposite direction. I glance at her non-chalantly (trying not to oggle) and carry on with the Mrs. I begin to take a swig of diet soda when my wife says "I cannot believe that girl that just passed us was not wearing underwear!"
I nearly drowned.
Carlos, I am constantly amazed at how attentive my wife is of other women. I tend to notice the important bits, but my wife can give you eye color, brands of lipstick and make-up, hair tint number, the lot!! And can she ever get catty at times in her comments. Thanks for this, made my day!
As for the red dot, it would be the first modification to my Leica when I buy one. Hate it! But that is just me.

I like very mutch the Leica Red Dot (I Like Leica, the most famous photographic advertising). Are the people scared about the red dot, in the street photography? Many don't distinguish a camera from a washer machine...
Ciao.

No not really, and i'm glad on the M2 they did not glue it on yet.

I feel no need to dislike it but i could not care less if it was a green square instead of a red dot.

Black dots for me. MUCH nicer looking on a black chrome camera- but INCREDIBLY nicer on a silver chrome one.

I thought they would send you a black dot only if you can prove that you own a LHSA M6?yoyo22 said:I just emailed Leica and got a black and a red dot for free.

I told them that my red dot fell off, so they offered me to send a new red one. Then I asked if it was possible to have a black dot to camouflage the camera for my next trip to Asia. The reply was a simple: "A red and a black dot are being mailed to you." Two days later the black one was on my M6(TTL).ocean7 said:I thought they would send you a black dot only if you can prove that you own a LHSA M6?

Xmm, red dot, black dot, whatever dot - I don't care. From my experience in most cases people are quite indifferent which dot does it have and do not strain their sight to read the small letters on top of it. What the crowd does pick quickly is that you do not use a modern digi SLR wonder and quickly loose interest which is exactly what street shooters looks for..
. Of course, unless there are those very few who will recognize RF and/or Leica, no matter what kind of dot does it show...(but those are rarity in our days)...
At least this is how it works in my surrounding...

I'm going to ask for a glow-in-the-dark dot. That way I can read my lens settings in the dark.
