am having only some very old photos in gallery, using Flickr currently, and link here when I feel it adds to my comment etc.

with all the social media chatter and hundred different websites for almost same thing, am disliking a lot of spreading my photos to all of them. better have just one. same reason am never posting photos to Facebook. Pinterest is nice tool to link photos from Flickr to FB.

I don't like scanning negs so I post very few photos online, here or elsewhere.
I've got tons of negs yet to print.

I upload to the gallery, but less now than ever. Size constriction is a right pain in the ....se. I'm more happy posting on flickr and Apug these days.

I post my images here. There are one or two moralistic fanatics here that would would rather I didn't, judging by the innuendo and comments....and to be frank, it's getting rather old.

I'm curious how many others would post their images here if there was no fear of being morally judged ???

If there are a few wowsers here who are bothered by your pics so be it!

It's not your place to fret about their conservatism ... keep posting them because I see nothing offensive!

I'm a little concerned that the leading poll choice so far is inability to post images due to confusion or technical reasons.

I've never thought it so ... but obviously if you look at the results here many do!

Can it be made simpler?

My flickr and tumblr accounts require enough maintenance already. I don't really have the energy to maintain a gallery here. That, and I'm not a big fan of RFF's gallery software.

Post photographs in the discussion/photo threads and on Flickr.

Love the feedback, positive, neutral or negative, if someone takes the time to comment. It is all good!

Also appreciate the multiple threads with themes where photographs are posted without comment, enjoyable just to meander through and look at the work.

I've a few in the RFF gallery. I had several hundred at one time however there was a period of 'sluggish' connection or some such and people were requested to help by reducing their images. I did. Thing was I started uploading at flickr and now that's where my active uploads go. I do have a blog and website also but they're quiet at the moment.

I really believe if you're uploading here (despite "that radical" Keith's promotion of evil SLR's) the images should be generated by a RF so my RFF gallery is RF images . FWIW I shoot both styles so when there are threads on SLR's I'll add images by sourcing from my flickr account. Like Keith I'm surprised at the large number of members who are discouraged by what they find to be a difficult uploading interface. Perhaps someone should investigate that. Even longstanding members like Rob Beimer have described difficulties. It's worth a look.

I used to but don't anymore...at one time I had a bunch of photos in my gallery...someone (this person is no longer around) took offense to the fact that they weren't taken with a Rangefinder camera so I deleted them...sounds silly on my part but he just pissed me off...
I do post shots in Threads but that's rare...I've been shooting a bunch of B&W for my personal work and have no way of scanning...so not so much lately...

I post images in threads via links to my pbase account, if I think it illustrates a point (as Bob said), provides an example (e.g. in a bokeh thread) or to ask about some technical issue. I have never posted in a gallery.

I enjoy photography but don't think my stuff is anything more than (well exposed and focused) "snapshots", so asking for C&C would be pretty pointless. Imagination and/or vision is something I realized as far back as high school that I just don't have, and I have a feeling that unlike technical factors, rules of compostion, and so on, it's not something that can really be learned (being a "talent" rather than a "skill"). So I settle for my "snapshots" and the principle that even a blind squirrel can find the occasional acorn.

Wow I really am in a super-miserable mood today :(

Photography is a hobby I very much want to pursue, and am always preparing to pursue (..by reading, learning, assembling, etc).

However, between caring for my elderly mom who lives with me, working pretty much seven days a week, not having had a vacation in years, blah, blah, blah....it means that I almost never get a chance to go shooting.

...so, I don't have enough images to post.

Robt, just one is enough...that's how I started posting :)

I post regular in threads but for some reason, I can not post in the gallery. I tried a couple of years ago and was not able to post my photos for some reason or another ( I forget now why I couldn't)......

why do I post?.....because I learn a lot from reading threads and looking at photos here from other members and I want to give something back, whether it is in the form of advice, information or photos......I try to contribute to rff because I like it and I like a lot of the people on this forum.....

cheers, michael

I voted "I can't get my head around..."

The reason? I don't like posting at max. 600 x 600 pixels. I've been asking again and again how to circumvent this (because I see larger pictures here all the time), but so far no one has seen fit to enlighten me. Maybe now? :D

You forgot the 'I'm not a very good photographer and I don't want to constantly subject everyone to pictures of my kids like I do on Facebook' option.
