Do you recognize yourself?

I'm the 'Film' guy, except I take it to completion. I do all wet prints too. I do own a small digicam for web and news work, just 'cause I have to.

I get it!
i see me!
That's libel.
My lawyers will be talking to yours..
beautiful.

One missing!
The "friend" who never, ever, says anything you shoot,
is worthwhile. Praise often meant as insult..

Good writing.
I have immediately identified myself with the film guy, except for the fact, that he is transgressing by shooting also digital, just to stay competitive. I don't want to stay competitive...
BTW, great idea for the tripod...

Definitely in the gear junkie category, but mainly in the bargain gear junkie category. I have too many cameras, too many lenses, too many odd gadgets. too much of everything really. film for the first sixty-odd years but recently dipping a toe or two into digital - even tried a camera phone briefly. Success rate of pictures I take and like is very low. Trying to reform and cut down to a reasonable about of kit and trying to increase the number of shots I like.

They've forgotten the photographer wannabe friend.. you know the one when they see you have a camera, are keen to tell you all sorts of things that would make a great photograph when they cross your path, only stopping short of hesitantly expecting you to take the shot right there and then while they wait..

I'm the one he missed.

The tinkerer. As related to photography.

A person who cannot stick to one discipline or camera or style or project in photography.

Likes to invent, construct, expirement with photo equipment more than actually taking pictures.

Will spend hours constructing some camera contraption or accessory, test it with film to see if it works, and then not actually use it to make photographs.

I'm doomed.
