how did you manage to not be in the shot! haha. Or have I not looked closely enough?
Also, contributing to the thread... My preferred focal length for details is 50mm or longer for a more isolating shot of a single detail, and wider for a more environmental detail shot.

Shooting details can give very rewarding results... my fav is a detail i shot from the railway station Liège Guillemins in Belgium, architect is Santiago Callatrava. This one was shot at 70mm with my (now sold) Pentax K-7. For the foreseeable future I am stuck with the 35mm from my X100.
