... likes film again.
Sold. Silver chrome M6 classic bought in February 2006. There was nothing wrong with that camera except that I wanted an MP ... :bang:

Yes, but my first M was an M7, so that should suggest how long I've had it.

Started this thread because I'm agonizing over selling my M4-2. Out of the M's I've owned, it's the only one that's given me no problems so far.
Why sell it then?

Like the handfeel of my other M's (when they're working) better, plus I find that I am really missing the self-timer function (strangely enough). Also, would be selling it to a person for whom it has special significance (her nickname is "42" in Chinese).

I bought my first Ms (M3 single stroke, M3 DS) in 1992 and I still have them. A later M4-P and M4-2 were bought and replaced by an M6. Bought another M6 and sold it. Added an M6-TTL. Bought and sold an M7. Bought an M8. Bought and sold an M2. Bought an M5. Bought an M2 with a rapidwinder. Bought an M9.
As much as I like using the M9, I have to say that the ergonomics of the M3 and its later siblings are just about perfect.
And, today, as posted elsewhere, I just bought 1000 feet of Neopan. It's going to be a good year.

[Edit: agonize away. I have regretted most of the cameras I have sold. Not the K1000's that I sold when I bought my LX and not the 8x10 Rajah I sold when I bought my Zone VI, but most of the others. Some of them I replaced: Speed Graphic, FM2, LX (then sold it again). -- yeah, it's a sickness]

Nah, my first M3 got desilvered VF, so I trade it for Rolleiflex with repairman. Year later I sold Rolleiflex and buy M3, working this time.

No -- I bought an MDa (does that count?) that had a defective film counter, so I returned it after shooting one film with it.
I do still have my first Bessa, though.

No, sold my M4-2 to buy the M6 I used for many years.

I got my first M6 in 2007 my second a few months after and my M8 last year. Looking forward to adding more cameras as time goes by!

My first M was an M2 which I bought in 1980, I still have it and use it quite often.
It was CLA'd recently by Gerry Smith at Kindermann in Toronto and as good as it was before, it is even better now.
I have a M4-P now as well, with a motley assortment of lenses.

No its was a M3 sold it because I didn't like the finder, if it had of been an M2 I might have kept it

I'm new with Ms as well. First one is an M3 bought 2008. Still have it.
Have considered trading it in, but just can't do it.

Bought my first a M4-P used from someone on the floor of a camera swap in SF.
Had asked a vendor if they had any and he said no but that (he pointed him out) guy does! It was little used (he was selling to by an M6) and I have enjoyed it ever since. BTW it had DAG's wax stamp on it and due to haze in the viewfinder I just had it CLA'd this winter.

Nope. I loved the thing and brought it everywhere with me. Bought it new in college, used it during my early career, even had plans to be buried with the thing. Had to sell it last month because I got laid off.
Ouch... sorry to hear that.

No - bought an unused M6 Titanium with 35 and 50mm Titanium Summiluxes... and sold it - still unused to buy a black paint MP and 90mm APO ASPH in same condition from the same collector I got the M6 from!
And if someone were to offer the right amount, I'd sell that MP too. Got an a la carte M7 not long ago and do not plan to part with it anytime soon!

Just got an M6 in great condition a couple of months ago, for such a low price that I'll never find such a deal again, still got it and no plan to part with it.
