Because I find my GAS is complicated by GRS*...🙁
There it was: My trusty but redundant Digilux2, nicely in its original box, all set to be sent to ffordes, and scheduled to make me over 750 Euro (I've seen these things on e-bay for far over😱1000$ 😱 , incredible!)
Anyway, I put it on the back seat of the car for its trip to the post-office- and I couldn't do it- there it is again in its accustomed spot in the cupboard 🙁

*= Gear Retention Syndrome

It's sad ... I sat down today and wrote a list of all the cameras I own, with the intention of maybe culling a few and attempting to pare them down to the ones I really need!

I looked at that list for a long time......................!

My New Years Resolution? ..............I'll look it at at again!

When you do find the cure ... please let us all know.

😱

GRS has plagued me lately as well. It has gotten worse with addition of an MP3 kit. I may have to finally breakdown and sell the R9 with motor drive and 35-70 zoom lens. Then there is the spare summilux I seem to find myself with now.

OK……..sad to say, I’ve never sold a camera, or lens for that matter, the only ones I’ve ever lost are to theft, I also keep both my father and grandfathers gear “sell a camera”? please explain what you mean

GRS does that translate as GEAR RETENTION SYNDROME?
if so sadly i know of no cure.....
Jaap just seen your * - should have read more closely
answer is still the same though 😀

grs is the reason the kiev is on the shelf. I was going to sell it and just couldn't bring myself to lose it. The Zorki and Fed were difficult to let go of, but the money went towards the Contax, and they went to a friend who'll use them.

I've not had any trouble selling my newer minolta SLR (that was a while ago now, can't remember what it financed). Jaapv that money would be better than a camera in a box in my opinion 🙂

GRS only lasts as long as there is shelf space.

I just feel we are all doing our part to preserve photographic history. It is an onerous task, yet one we have gladly taken up for noble and altruistic motives lol.
