Let me first introduce myself, I'm Jip van Kuijk (21) from the Netherlands, some of you probably have seen my posts before here, although I must admit that I'm not VERY active on this forum, I'm more of a reader. I've posted some articles now and then that I've written on my website.

But now for why I am posting:

I'm going to India in the first quarter of 2015, to make a documentary about the tribal jungle kids of rural India. That I am going is for sure but I also want to do something for the kids while I'm there and that's something you can help me with!

Please read more about it on the link below,

Please if any thoughts leave them here in the comments! 🙂

I'am curious about your motivation for carrying out this project. I don't think I'am in full agreement of the "why"part of your argument or as to why you are focusing on this specific group. Your explanations seem weak at best. I would imagine it would be far more beneficial for children to have a education and for you to help out in that regard than photographs of themselves.

As was said before, I think you should elaborate on what you're going to be doing for these children. You give them a disposable camera and then just let them go? Do you give them instruction on how to use the camera or take good photos? Does the best photo win? Why not have a competition between them?

Also, calling them "jungle kids" sounds slightly offensive to me. What's the name of the tribe or tribes?

For your sake, I hope you know a heck of a lot more than the summary you posted on indiegogo. If that is the extent of your knowledge, then I would suggest that you postpone your trip and conduct more research, not just for your own safety and welfare, but primarily out of respect for the tribes that you propose to inspire.

First of all, calling them "tribal kids from the jungle" is an insult. By 'jungle' I will assume that you mean the deciduous forests that cover almost half of the state. If so, then the tribes to which you refer would be one or more of the following tribes: Gond, Halbi, Halba, Kamar and/or Oraon.

Which one(s)? Do you know what to say (or not say) or do (or not do) when you are in their midst? What one tribe may find acceptable behavior from an outsider such as you may be insulting to another tribe.

At this point, you might want to reconsider -- your heart may be in the right place, but your idealistic naivete may cause more harm than good. If you want to help these children today, make a donation to UNICEF.

I am working for 'SOS Jungle Kids' (http://junglekids.be) they have build a school in the area in 1980, so we're already helping them with education... the reason my article on Indiegogo is not going in depth is because I've had 3 texts... the most explaining and deep going one was the least favorite with people I asked to proof read them who had no knowledge yet.

The text in the article is meant for people who are donating not for the tribals themselves.

If you don't want to support it than thats fine, but please don't judge my knowledge on the text thats on Indiegogo because that was written for the people who don't know. And you guys all seem to know more than than the average bloke.

Questions are always welcome, and of course afterwards I will show the project outcome here.
