Where I might be able to find a red (or even yellow or orange) push-on contrast filter for my Contax I 5cm f/2.8 Tessar? With it came a green filter (link below for photo), but that just sits on the shelf. I prefer he red or orange.. I've looked on ebay and a few other websites, but can't seem to find anything close.. I know this is a wild goose chase, but I thought it couldn't hurt asking..

I will check my stash of old Zeiss filters this eveneing, and see if I have one- I would be glad to send it to you, because I never use these types of filters due to preference for color film.

Try Manfred Schmidt in Chicago at this LINK . He has a bunch of this sort of stuff and really knows what is what. BTW, push-on filters are sometimes prefixed with the letter "A" before the size in mm.

If you have a series VI adapter and want any filters, I have probably 15-20 of them you can have. And we're in the same city!

Hmm.. I know where I can get the adapter.. I'm going to see what dexdog can dig up, first. But I might still take you up on that offer regardless..

Sorry, I struck out on the 42mm push-on filter. I have lots of 40.5 and 49mm screw-ins, and even some 51mm push-ons, but no 42mm push-ons, except for a Kodak Series VI adapter in 42mm, with a UV filter. I have a lot of filters that I have acquired through the years, but not this type, apparently
 
You are probably best off going with a 42 mm push on series iv adaptor ring. They are pretty easy to come by and then you can use series iv filters and hoods. This simplifies things a lot, and they are cheap.
 
ebay item 140564735730. 42mm push-on red filter (R10) from Pacific Rim Camera for $25. Pac Rim also has some similar filters in yellow, same price.

That's alright. Thank you for trying! and that filter on ebay looks perfect.. might have to pic that up.
 
What I have is: Zeiss Yellow G2, Red R10, Green GR5 (like yours), Dk Green GR10, and a no-name chrome hood. The filters are in black paint, with the yellow in a leather case, and the other three in Bakelite cases. Ten dollars each, free shipping. PM me for particulars.

I got some of the filters in a batch of stuff, and went looking for the hood and yellow filter. Then I found out I could get screw-in filters for my lenses, so I don't need these anymore. I was hanging on to them just because they looked so good in the bakelite cases, but they really should be used. Zeiss filters seem to last forever.
