Does anyone think this is a legit auction?

Hi,

This is a totally "newbie" seller listing on the bay.

Current price suggests extreme skepticism of bidders given number of days listed and other pricing for similar gear.

Is anyone here bidding? If so, I won't bid.

More important - would anyone here bid?

"Double" posting of pics is not comforting since second set seems to be PS'd.

I want a fair priced SP but this is "questionable" to say the least!

Thoughts please.

Definitely a newbe to eBay who definitely went above and beyond the call of duty with the added photos.

I just purchased a Canon VI-L from a newbe with zero feedback. It took a couple of emails and a phone call, but by the end of the auction, I was more than satisfied that the seller was legit and a nice lady, as well.

A couple of thoughts. Everybody has to start somewhere so it could well be legit. Contact them and get a feel for yourself. The "funny" auctions tend not to answer questions very well. As to the PS'd photos, I doubt they realise why unedited photos are important and besides if they are genuine, I doubt they would know what to hide ;)

As far as price is concerned, Most serious bidders will not show their hand until the closing seconds so the number and level of bids is no sign.

I would be very wary about asking who else is bidding. I am not sure of the legality of "outside interference" on an Auction. If you were listing something, how would you feel if you found on another auction site that people were sorting out who was going to bid for it? :confused:

Perhaps I should have phrased the question: Does anyone think this is not a legit auction?

Anyway - it's "tough" to establish credibility. The seller has some bids so he'll soon have a rating!

I'm holding off bidding because my better half has told me to cool the GAS for a while!
