Does Leica convert viewfinders?

Can someone take the time to explain to me why a .58 viewfinder is better for someone with glasses? It's purely academic question for me, unless I decide to buy a M-mount camera at some point in the future: right now I shoot with a IIIf. The magnified rangefinder @ 1.5 helps a good deal.

Isn't there a .85x minifier that would bring .72 closer to .61?

The Megapearl/MS-Optics one is long discontinued and nowhere to be found; the other Hongkong .85 minifier, the one on eBay, is simply a waste of money. Yet to try the E-clypse one, but it surely looks big.

Always hard to find a perfect solution...

Glasses, 0.72 = 35 framelines just visible and 28 unusable.
Glasses, 0.58 = 35 framelines and surround easily visible and 28 usable.
It's the increased distance of the eye from the viewfinder eyepiece.

Thanks, Richard. .72 would be fine for me, then, because I much much prefer 35 to 28 and when I do go wider I have the VC 25mm Snapshot Skopar distance focus lens with its own viewfinder.
