Does my RD-1 have a serial number ?

I maybe crazy but I cannot find it so far

My old Epson was 001957, so if any of you gets it it was reconditioned at least once.

I only found the S/N on the camera - there were no markings on the box and no serial number card inside the box.

I think it may depend on which box is being talked about. I believe that the plain cardboard outer shipping carton has the serial number whereas the internal (black cardboard) package doesn't. My first body came shipped from B&H and had the outer box but my second body, which I picked up today from Glazers (Seattle), has just the inner package (and no serial number).

Yup. I suppose it's easy to get the numbers out of sync since there's no indication of the serial number on the sealed inner box.
