Check (if you could) the prices of whatever digital camera you are planning on buying, on ebay in 5 years. Puff, the M3 is gone.

I realize that we beat this one to death in a thread from last week but... I just purchased the Fuji F30 and it is an amazing little P&S. I'm not fully aware as to what you'll be using the camera for but the size is great and the pictures, or "images" as their called in the digital vernacular need no post processing unless you want to make a few small teeks here and there.
Just my opinion added to the rest🙂

Sometimes, a "prize" camera has to go.
I had a Hexar AF some time back, as a sidekick to my Minolta 9xi SLR system. Used that Hexar a lot...more than the SLRs in the last two years I had them. Then I bought a Ricoh GR1. Different beast than the Hex AF in so many ways, so a direct comparison isn't exactly fair, but the bottom line was that I was eventually using the GR1 a lot more than the Hexar AF. Then came my decision to ditch the SLR system en toto and start over with a Hexar RF system. Cash was tight (lost a job a short time before), and a decision had to be made: the Hex AF, much as I loved its capabilites, had to go, with reluctance. Its sale helped buy the two-body HRF system I've been using for four-years-plus now, quite heavily, and love a lot. The Ricoh is still here, but needs to be serviced. It's a keeper.
The only digital camera on my radar for eventual purchase is an Olympus C8080, which I've used a good deal before, and like very much – a do-almost-everything digital that won't cost the moon, and more than good enough for me on those occasions when shooting digital really makes sense.

the cv 28/3.5 has been sold.
the m3 body has been traded...for a mint cl with a 40 summicron.
the elmar 50/2.8 is about to be listed in the classifieds.
i'm tired...
