Double exposure

Recently acquired my first rf a Nikon S, does anyone have any tips on how to do double exposures on this beautiful camera or if this is even possible?

Now for another newbie question. I also have a 50mm f2 lens without a lens cap...what size lens cap do I need?

I've been told you can take the first exposure, then set the reversing lever to rewind so you can turn the advance knob to cock the shutter without advancing the film, then set the lever back to "a" and take the next exposure. 🙂

No problem! Let me know how it works out
It will just advance the frame counter with each exposure, but that's not a big deal/easily fixed on the S or S2.

Don't forget to take up the slack at the rewind knob prior to attempting the above procedure otherwise there will be a slight shift in frameage.

If you want to experiment with it, you may try another approach (I always do it this way). You just shoot one roll, then rewind it back leaving the leader and load into camera again. Results will be unexpected but quite interesting sometimes.
Let me know if you want more info and examples on this.

And don't forget to adjust the ISO setting or speed accordingly.

Awesome suggestions 1948nikon and cool links MIkhail. With these suggestions I shall channel my inner creativity (hidden deep down somewhere lol) and combine them with the power of this mechanical device! I'll post results once I am done with my roll =)

PS. yes everyone please do post some examples of double exposures you have captured intentionally/unintentionally with your rf.

On those rare occasions when I've fooled around with double exposures, (such as when doing in-camera Ortons) I always used an SLR with a dedicated double-exposure function (bodies such as the Nikon FM FE, FE-2, or mostly my FA) just because of the ease in doing so, as well as because they allowed the shutter to be re-cocked while maintaining the film's frame registration.
Unless I only had a rangefinder camera, I wouldn't want to bother with the techniques described in this thread, as they seem to be Rube Goldberg solutions at best.
