Hi,
I was thinking of mixing up D76 to 2:1 dilution, for easier storage. As of now, the powder doesn't seem to dissolve, is it even physically possible to dissolve in half the "stock" amount of water?
Also, what should I expect regarding shelf life of this nasty soup?
I usually go for one-shot 1+2 strength, so it would be very convenient to have it mixed this strong.
Cheers
Joachim

It tastes worse. Use it 1:1 on the rocks.

Have you used hot 90F water when mixing, as they directions indicate?

90C? The bag says only 50-55C.
I never managed to dissolve it, so I ended up diluting to stock.

Use hot water to mix it. This is standard practice for me. Where I live the water out of the tap is very warm so I keep D76 at 2:1 and I dilute it with ice water to 1:1 when needed.

It will dissolve, but it takes a few minutes of stirring. Don't add the entire packet at once. Add a bit at a time, stir (I use a whisk, works great), add a bit more powder, and so on.

55C = 131F.
