DPreview are moving to the US right about now. They probably don't have much time for reviews untill they settle in the new office, just some odd news.

Thanks for the link to that review - I'll take a look at it - but after just glossing it over; it ain't helping me in a quest to steer clear of the M9.. *LOL*

given the tens of thousands of lines of opinion on it here and other forums and all the reviews done by other people, it would seem a pretty futile exercise to write another review after the event.
Perhaps with the exception of an 18 month review of the camera in daily use across a wide range of subject matter in tough conditions under tight deadlines to find out how much of a solid working tool it really is.

I just spent the week-end with an M8. I finally could afford one.
I used the R8+DMR back when it first came out. To me the M8 is very similar, in quality of build, image quality, etc.
I have used Fuji's and Canon's DSLR's and I just don't think that most of the "trigger happy" (shoot first -- think later, if at all) crowd will ever understand the M8 or M9. As for me, the digital M's fill a need. Especially when I need to travel and film gets blasted too many times by the Xrays.
As for "Reviews" just read Dr. Erwin Puts. I don't think that anyone will put as much work or thought into a review as he has.

Too many reviews are confusing me ...I think that the only way to have a clear idea is to buy one, use for a few months and then there are two possibilities:
a - it works for the use I make
b - for any reason it does not work (according to the use I need) and in this case resell it, with the hope anyone on the waiting list desire a camera soon. Of course in the case there is a cost, but nothing can be achieved without paying the price...
Not so sure about this (maybe crazy) idea but I'm considering it.

The problem with the "buy/resell" option is the fact that we're not talking about a $500 or even $1500 dollar camera here..
You can sort of "get away with that" with less expensive items - people can't exactly afford (well not everyone at least) to go out, drop $8000 (after taxes) just to "try" out a camera only to find out that they don't like it.
The reviews are useful but, ultimately, being able to hold, use, and play with, (perhaps RENT) the M9 will ultimately tell the individual whether it's right for them or not.

@ dcsang: you are correct, the problem is the money involved. But my idea is that if you (me) are interested and presumibly can afford the cost the devaluation in case you re-sell should be not too much and you can use it let's say at least a couple of month. Playing with the camera half an hour in a shop helps but cannot be resolutive. Ideal would be to have the possibility to rent it for a week, but this is not possible at least in the area where I live. Cheers

I had to sacrifice and sell a bunch of stuff to get the M9 and am glad I did. So far I am very happy with its performance. This is a grab shot with a 35mm Summicron asph and it is roughly a 5% crop from the full frame. Also it was overexposed by 2 stops due to the back light so I am glad it was DNG. I wish there was a dial for exposure compensation.

there is.
rear dial can be used to compensate exposure.
you can set it from the main menu' (there are 3 options: only from menu', only with rear dial, with rear dial while pressing shutter button)
