A few weeks ago I asked about what the going rate are for a DS M3 and a 50 DR Summicron are. I have the opportunity to purchase both items + a Leica meter and case for $700. The camera looks like its in very good conditions, but hasn't been used in a while. It might eventually need a CLA, but looks like it works just fine at the moment.

Is $700 a good price for the items listed?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Agree, if you get a DS M3 and DR Summicron for $700, buy it.

If it is all working, the M3 is $700 or so, but the lens could easily be $700 or more. Lens prices are nuts right now. Note that the DR won't fit the M8 / M9, but, it is still a good lens.

Youxin Ye's site can give you an idea of CLA prices. Ebay completed sales can fill in the rest.

Good luck

The body alone would bring that and the lens is worth $900 to $1200. Meter? I don't know. Buy it and NEVER sell it. It'll be your friend for life.

Absolutely a good deal. I sold my M3 almost exactly a year ago for $900, and right now I've got a 50 DR that I'm probably about to sell for $950 (though mine still has the original box and the little leather case for the eyes/goggles), so if I were you I wouldn't think twice about it.

Thanks guys! If I do buy it, I do intend to keep it for life! All your replies have got me even more excited!

If you can get a kit where the total cost is the price of one item alone, there shouldn't be any question about it. This happened with my M6 and first 35 summicron. I didn't regret it, hopefully you don't either.
