DSLR at 50,000 actuations, now what

My Canon D60 is far over 50,000. No problem so far.

When I bought it, I promised to grant it one shutter repair before I replace it.

Come to think about it, my PJ friends killed D30s almost monthly 🙂, the D60s lasted longer and I've yet to hear about a broken 20d.
The brassing around the shutter release is pretty normal, and most batteriegrips I see around are polished at the shutter and control wheel.

Avotius.. I think it's earned it's keep. It's a good tool in the hands of a good photographer.

Avotius, how did you figure your 20D has 50,000 actuations? I thought there was no way to figure out the actuation count on the 20D...

Avotius, nice photos as usual.

I guess the conclusion that everyone seems to be getting at is to keep using that camera...

But have a BACKUP ready at hand! 😀

If you don't swap cards btwn cameras, and don't reset the file numbering, then it's easy to see the difference btwn the 1st & last file number.

Great pictures. Not to scare you but here's some information about a 20d shutter problem:

the file number goes from 0-9999 then resets back at 0, but it has reset its 5th time and my cf card has been no where near another camera so there ya have it.

Beautiful work as always. My 20D probably has 125,000+ frames with no problems. Just keep shooting.

Thanks for the comment as always Don. Yikes though, you got a lot of shots on your 20D, but I guess im not surprised, I got my 20D when they first came out ($1500 USD) and was the first one in my photographic class to have a dslr, now they all have them, but for sure, its a work horse.
