My X100 Review - A few weeks in

Yeah, like if you turn it on with the lens cap on sometimes it'll be all washed out, I guess it adjusts the brightness when it meters and it can trip itself up sometimes.

Oh and as an addendum to my comments above:

- Another weird thing is that the battery charger is a kinda of universal Fuji charger, i.e. it's designed to also charge other, bigger batteries. This means that it is supplied with a small piece of plastic that fits into the back of the charger and holds the X100 battery in place when charging.

Take care not to lose this piece of plastic as if you do the charger is suddenly too big for the battery and it won't stay in place - you'll then need to wedge it in place which is lame! Quite why Fuji thought it'd be a good idea not to have a proper charger where the battery actually fits without the need of a really really easy to lose or forget about piece of plastic is anyone's guess!

That questions is easily answered: Design reuse - a very common practice in electronics today - it saves design time and manufacturing costs.

However, thank you Andrew for pointing this out! I think it would be a clever thing to figure out how to permanently fasten the wedge to the charger (lack of this is a design flaw, however). Ideas, anyone?
