Hi,
some of you were kind enough to comment on my first photobook, posted-up last January. I'd be really grateful if you would take a look at my latest offering and perhaps pass comment.
Thanks,
Roger S

You have done very well, Roger. This side of Dubai is far more interesting to me than skyscrapers and wealth.

I'm going to be a bit of a contrarian here and give some honest feedback. And while I'm no Jörg Colberg, I think I am a better book collector/buyer than I am a camera nut.
Firstly, the book has too many themes. Which is all fine, I suppose, if that is really the book's ambition, but unfortunately, the many themes leads to incoherence. And this translates into that awful layout.
Secondly: edit! There are some really nice images, but these are diminished by the inclusion of many not so good ones. In some ways, this is connected with the first point above. If you can filter out the bad photos, I think the layout will improve.
Honestly, I'm not trying to be hurtful here. I actually went through that book on blurb over breakfast this morning and these were the thoughts that went through my head. I simply wouldn't buy this book in its current shape.

Thanks again for all your comments, including the negative ones. Motto - learn from everything, and if you can't take criticism, don't put yourself out there.

... likes film again.
It is amazing how fast things seem to have changed there in short time and think that you have captured it very well. But also I have to agree with RFluhver about to many sections in you book. Otherwise very enjoyable to look at !
