e-p2 coming 5th -EVF

So the e-p2 is coming on the 5th of November, and it comes in black.

Oh and as far as I can tell it uses the new epson EVF in a hotshoe/clip-on style - 1.4mp, 100% coverage, 1.15x magnification. For anybody that has looked through an E-3's viewfinder, that is the same size. in other words, it's big.

So anyone sitting on the trigger about to buy a micro four thirds cam, may want to wait a few days.

An external installation, E-P2-specific high-resolution electronic viewfinder, which has 1.44 million pixels, 100% field of vision and 1.15x magnification, while the ultra-high contrast and brightness characteristics of the video camera can even add an external color comparable to the viewfinder. It also provides a refractive adjustment function.

There's a link to the Epson EVF that epson announced on the 15th of october. Keep in mind I don't know for sure that it is the same one as in the Olympus e-p2 EVF, but the fact that the specs match makes me fairly sure.

Hope they spent the money to put a phase detection sensor in the body. This would be a killer camera with DSLR fast autofocus.

Olympus's killer looks and in body IS, plus Panasonic's fantastic 20mm, and an EVF that comes especially handy when I want to use my M lenses, sounds interesting... Won't come cheap though. As for the magnification, the G1 is 1.4x, so Oly's will be smaller, and apparently that is "equivalent to 0.7x on a 35mm camera", so the E-P2's would be equivalent to 0.575x? I'm guessing all these numbers are with a 50mm, since, they usually are.

When speaking about VF magnification for SLR:s, it usually refers to magnification with a 50 mm lens, regardless of sensor size. If this is the case here, the viewfinder will be like an FF VF with 1,15/2 = 0,575x. That's quite small, but not too bad.

Urr... yes, the higher the mag the bigger. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I was meant to say, the G1's mag is 1.4x, which is bigger than the rumoured 1.15x mag on the Olympus, hence the Olympus's EVF view would be smaller than the G1's.

It probably won't be interchangeable for the Panasonic cameras. I am curious of any changes between the E-P1 and E-P2. AF speed perhaps?

The big downside of digital photography. When did the EP-1 go on sale? Wasn't it only this spring? That's a fast cycle.

Indeed, pretty sucky. But we all know that digital photography is this way, its kind of like Apple, always tweeking and re-releasing products then cutting off the old ones.

I guess it's just like all the other rumors.... I'll look at it when it hits the market. All the specs will be set in place, and I will then know what I'm being asked to purchase.

Now, about that Holga digital... anyone seen one. Is it going to be FF and will it compete with the M9 on ISO and lens abberation.

Why on earth do people want a built-in flash in a camera? Built-in radio flash trigger I could understand.
