I recently started using the black and white art filter on my E-P2, and have encountered a very strange problem with it. Any time I try to use the VF-2 finder in this particular mode, I see six red horizontal lines superimposed over the image. I have attached an image to show what they look like.

The strange thing is, these lines don't show up when using any other shooting mode—all the other art filters are fine. The do not appear on the screen or in the final image, so I assume this is some kind of software glitch.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with their E-P2? Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Mathew

I don't use the evf. I have heard of this problem many times before. If you notice, with the art filters the refresh rate, even on the lcd is slower than regular mode. I think it has something to do with that.
The lines should not be on the image, just the evf....am I right?

Yup, they're only on the EVF (but beneath the menus, so it must have something to do with what the camera sees). I don't think this is a refresh rate issue however, as the diorama mode suffers from a great deal more lag, yet displays perfectly.

UPDATE: it seems the red lines only appear when the camera is used with an M to m4/3 adaptor (or without a lens at all). When I mount an Olympus 17mm pancake to the camera, the lines vanish! Take it off, and they come right back.

This issue must be related to camera-lens communication. I'm just glad to find that my EVF isn't broken!
