My M5s need red dots!
Congratulations!!!

My last win on eBay was a propack of Scala...
It feels good when you win, as opposed to clicking the "BIN" button.

I have a Canon 100mm F4; I put it on par with the Elmar 9cm F4. I would also like to find a 100mm F3.5 for comparison. It is a good portrait lens without too much contrast.
The 135mm F3.5 lens is a good one; you can "mentallY' crop using the 100mm lines as a guide. I use a 135mm on my Nikon S3 without too much trouble at 10' and beyond.

Clicking the BIN button on something that was listed cheap, like my S3 with a 5cm F1.4 feels pretty good too!

for sure you'll see pics!
i'm actually ok if it's on par with the 90/4 elmar. from what i've read about it (the elmar) it sounds like a lens i could get used to, so, so too the canon.
as for the 135, i was thinking the same thing about cropping it visually in my head. i'm pretty sure i could do that ok.

Well, sure, clicking the BIN button feels good, but it feels even better when you win the endurance race of a 7-day auction!
Must admit, though, that a lot of my eBay wins have been BINs.
Oh, well... it still feels good!

Joe,
I have a bunch of 135 external shoe-mounted viewfinders, do you need one?

Bill, if Joe declines, I'd be interested in one - I got a Hector 135/4.5 coming, and it will be very difficult to use on my M2, I guess...
If you're willing to part with one, please let me know.

hey bill,
i don't know yet.
i have yet to win the auction but if i do win, my plan was to just guesstimate using the 100 mm framelines as my guide and hope like heck it's doable.
to be honest, i've never had to use a seperate viewfinder and with no experience at all, i have pre judged the experience as awful, so i was not thinking about using a finder.
it will be a while before the transaction is complete and i have the lens in my hot little hands and i don't want to hold you up, so for now i'll say a gracious thank you and pass - and hope like hell you still have one later on if i change my stubborn mind.
ironicly enough, the 100 mm lens comes with a finder

That 100mm finder is apparently a favorite with Collectors. It is a tiny little peep-site that sits in the top of the case.

Sure, send me a PM, we'll work it out.
FYI - I'm going to San Francisco on Saturday, won't be home for a week. I'll do my best to stay in touch, but if I drop out of sight, I'll be back.
Best Regards,

Bill, I thought your wandering days were over... If you're going to San Francisco, what cameras and film would you take with?
It's probably the one and only city in CA that I really want to visit.
