Hi,

I'm looking at ebay and see an old brochure for the E-3 and bought it for a silly price as the difference between brochures and instruction manuals always amuses.

Having bought it, ebay contact me with a few suggestions "to complement" it. One of them was the book "Darker; Fifty Shades Darker as told to... "

What can you say?

This is like amazon and their algorithms. Yes amazon, i purchased a water heater. No amazon, I'm not a water heater collector, please stop suggesting more and more water heaters, I only needed one.

I now imagine somewhere someone has probably bought some B&W film and then "Fifty Shades of Grey" thinking it's about film processing...

And then AI that thinks "Darker" is about photographic exposure with the Olympus E-3 is more worrying; although I guess they are lumped together as both are books. And they are talking about AI running a lot of things.

Netflix algorithms take the cake. I watched a movie about Bob Marley and for six months got recommendations to watch every video about marijuana ever made.

No, I think based on your posts here that you have a hot water heater fetish....

But speaking of weird, I always find it funny when a competing product is identified as the one you might like. You know, you buy a DxO one and then it says you might want the Sony QX. Ok.

I don't mind the stupid suggestions they have (mind you, it's been tweaked to get you to buy something else, even if it wasn't related in any way to what you just bought), but when doing a search for similar items, it very rapidly goes down the rabbit hole after only a few displays.

You mean you watched "Police Squad" too? That's the first mention of it I've seen. I thought I'd imagined it years ago as no one seemed to like it and the series ended quickly.
