I made a mistake developing a roll of film last night; I dried the negatives using the wrong type of cloth, and now (when I scanned them) I discovered that there's what looks to be bits of lint (fine strands) stuck to the emulsion side. Entirely my fault of course, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove these without damaging the emulsion?
Or should I just put it down to experience and vow never to do that again?
Thanks.

Just re-wash the film and dry it again! And don't dry it with a cloth.

Great, I'm glad there's an easy solution, much appreciated.Just re-wash the film and dry it again!
I've now learned that lesson the hard wayAnd don't dry it with a cloth.
Also, I had cut the film into strips of 6 negatives each before I realised the problem, that'll make it a bit harder to wash & hang, but I suppose it's doable as long as I carefully use the sprockets.
Thanks once again.

Half unfold some paperclips to make some S shaped hooks, one end through a sprocket hole the other on the line.
Hopefully the lint is on the surface an not pressed into the emulsion, good luck anyway

Good suggestion, thanks.
Should I use running water, or just a quick dunk in a bucket of water, or maybe something else?
Fortunately none of the photos are irreplaceable, I'm just quite annoyed at myself for a silly mistake.

I have soft water here, so a sink full of cold water with a bit of wetting agent (Fairy washing-up liquid) then hang at an angle if you can so any remaining lint runs to the edge would be my plan

You suggest to repeat Operation Paperclip? -- did we have a German aggression again and Soviet Red Army won, but US forces took the german rocket scientists?
And all that happened in a photo lab?
oh, I had a bad night with my two little dougthers, I think it was a german Alptraum
