To be on the safe side, I also bought some Reala 100 in 120 format. Reala gives pastel like colors.
OT, but where are getting Reala, Raid? I haven't seen it in quite some time at B&H or Freestyle.

That's a very good review Roger and I'll second just about everything you've written in that article, especially the parts about the red sensitivity, grain/sharpness and the 'feel' of slides..
I also did a little review in 2009, not in the same league as yours but in the same ballpark conclusion wise.

I got it a week ago by googling it. It is fresh. The seller sells ten rolls at a time.
If interested, pm me.

I actually like it for people, but I agree, it seems to be more hit-or-miss than I'd like. But when it's good, it's great.

Since I stop E-6 I go Ektar in 35, good color from the lab prints. But I find not easy to get the "right" colors from my own scans (Nikonscan). I'll try Vuescan in the next days. I'll also try Ektar in 120, for my Rolleiflex.

Anybody ever use an 81-a, 81-b, or Skylight-b to warm up Ektar's blue notes? I never have, but am curious.
It somewhat reminds me Provia--pallet is different, of course, but the tendency towards blue shadows.
I know some guys swear by warming filters for Provia--so it got me wondering about Ektar.

You don't need a warming filter for Provia in general.
Provia 100F (and 400X) has a very neutral, natural and exact color reproduction.
Using a warming filter is recommended for those photographers, who have shot Ektachrome E100G, GX and Elitechrome 100 for years. The Kodaks are not as neutral as Provia and have a warmer color balance. If you want that, then using a warming filter with Provia makes sense to come close to the Ektachrome color balance.
Cheers, Jan
P.S. If I compare my slides on the lighttable and in projection with my (bigger) Ektar prints, then my slides always win.
Their color brillance, resolution, sharpness and fineness of grain is unmatched.
No chance for Ektar in direct comparison (it is not a bad film, but reversal film is a league of its own).
