Just bought me an Electro 35 CCN Wide in really nice condition. Will need a little cleaning and new seals. Has anyone heard or used/owned one? There's practically no info on this on the internet. Anyone know if its the same as the 35 CC? Regardless, I think I'm gonna have some low light fun with the 35mm f1.8 lens

Wow cool. I thought they were all 35mm 1.8? What makes it a "wide" version?

When I was into collecting, I had at least one of every leaf shutter camera Yashica made except the 35CC wide. I've never seen one so you've got a real treasure. I don't know what differences there are from the regular 35CC, but I htink Gandy mentions it on his website.
Congratulations on a great find.

I've got two--a CC and a CCN and I like 'em. However, right now I've got what looks like a mysterious light leak at the top of almost every image on my CC. There is a pronounced crescent shaped (convex) area that's lighter (varies from frame to frame) in color than the rest of the image at the top. I've resealed (twice) it and I use a hood. Anybody got any ideas?

BTW--what did you pay for it?

Yup, I'm really glad I bid on it. I think it was definitely worth the money, considering that I've never seen one for auction. Not even a manual. I bought it for $126.01
Down to the last second, got lucky.
Funny thing is that I just sold off a pristine (completely overhauled by owlsplace) Electro GT on Ebay for $127 a few days ago and then I stumbled onto the CCN yesterday.../sigh. The idea was to limit myself to only two Electro's but that didnt work...
Now I have a minty GSN (courtesty of owlsplace again), a GX that is on it's way to Mark Hama for a complete overhaul, and will be getting the CCN this week
Damn, I just cant help it with these Electro's

No ideas from RFF to above post, so I contacted Jon Goodman. He suspected, among other things, a hood problem. I removed the generic, metal, Japanese made hood for 35mm lenses and put on a rubber Nikon (HR-4) for the same focal length. Bingo, no more flare!
BTW-I had the same problem w/ my GX.

I had one for a while, but I didn't like it too much. The lens just didn't cut it for me, the GS/T/N lens is much better. Acquiring a Hexar AF got me spoilt even more. I gave the CC away to a friend of mine.

The only thing I don't like is you can't control the shutter speed. Your subject better not be moving.

Magna - congratulations. The CCN Wide is indeed a rare best.
Todd - I remember you had some excellent images taken with the 35CC in your gallery.

Heheh, yeah. I feel that it is the most rare of all the electro cameras, the runner up being the silver Electro GX (which I just recieved today from Mark Hama, total overhaul). Some think the black GX is the rarest, but it was more abundant than the silver model, as the silver model was more expensive to make because of the it's finish.zuikologist said:Magna - congratulations. Mark called me this morning. He had questions about the camera (he's CLA'ing the CCN for me as well). He asked me where I found it and told me how rare it is. He said that is was an extremely rare European model of the Japanese CC. Supposedly, the CC was sold in Japan only, then Yashica exported it for a short time to Europe as the CCN Wide.
It's all very interesting...I can't wait to get it back from Mark

Dave, nice to see a photo of one at RFF.
