Electro 35 GT part !

Hi all, I've just been overhauling my Electro 35 GT (battery holder spring wire disconnected), and a very small white 'tube' piece dropped out. it's about 1-2mm long, picture attached. I can't see where it can go, and the service manual I looked at doesn't show it. I've attached a pic of the little bugger - anyone seen this and can tell me where it goes ? Stoopid, me ?

Hi thanks, yes I have those all printed off, but this little part isn't mentioned or seen in the photos - I just wondered if it's fallen out of anyone else's !!

That looks like the standoff used under the circuit board next to the positive battery terminal. The board sets the voltage for the battery test lamp. It's rectangular with two red wires attached if I recall right.

That seems unlikely. At least on my GT (Japan version) that circuit board lies directly on a part of the battery chamber which functons as a standoff.

I also took of the top but no luck either. I was tempted to take off the lens assembly (it's a repair case anyway) but I have too much projects I have to finish first. But if I ever come across that part I will let you know.

But maybe it was part of a 'operation mind****' of a bored Yashica factory worker just to annoy the guys at the repair department. 😉

I was curious about that, so I took the bottom off my GT. Its casting doesn't have that molded-in shoulder, so it needs the small standoff. Still, it looks like it would go under a circuit board somewhere.

Good luck with it. If I find another one in this camera, I'll let you know.

Thanks guys, I will check under the tester circuit board, just to see if that's the place.

It is a spacer that goes under the battery test circuit board. Put the long screw through the board, then the spacer goes on the back side between the camera body and the board. Older models used this design, newer ones used the thick wing on the battery compartment to eliminate the need for the spacer.
