Many of us use cameras that are 40 or 50 years old and it seems to me that other man made objects from the same era make great subjects. Here is proof that in the 50's & 60's even commercial vehicles had a certain style.

Nice shots, Robin. And yes, I very much agree. For example, I really enjoy looking at the dashboards of cars from the 50's and early 60's. Each was unique and evidenced real artistry and flair. With some clear exceptions, most car dashes today, much like their bodies, are all so uniform and boring.

Ooh, that bike is stunning. And the first deliver van. I was born 60 years too late I think.

The best camera is one that still works!
Beautiful bike ... I'm intrigued by the fact that it appears to have Amal carbs on it! This and the CB450 were the bikes that brought the British motorcycle industry to it's knees and forced it into the back stalls while the Japanese manufacturers ran riot!

Yes it has Amal 626's - part of it is due to the fact that the old Keihins were 40+ years old, and no amount of rebuild kitting was going to make them run right. These Amals are available new, and fit the period (the design is over 40 years old). Plus, they kinda fit in with the whole 'Japan Meets Britain' motif that I'm trying to achieve with this 'art project'. If you remember the Read Titans (race versions of the SuperHawks), they used 26mm Amals as well. The Amals are also really simple carbs, and they practically worked perfectly out of the box.
The Honda purists hate me!

Ooh, can't beat classic cars and bikes as subject matter. The first shot reminds me of an Anglia 105E "estate" wagon that I drove around for many years. Great car and super rare here.
I always wanted a CB72 or 77. Now that I think about it I had a deposit on one as my first bike, but the deal fell through.
