Yes, I am pretty sure E5 will work RAW.
E5 is also pretty functional. I still work with E2 quite a bit because CS2 confuses me.
If/when I get a new computer I may try Lightroom.

I'm not up-to-date on all this, but the only reason I didn't get Elements several years ago was because it lacked curves.

Before you splurge, be sure to check out Lightzone also, if all or most of the things you do is fixing up photographs. Works well with RAW.

Until last year I used Canon's DPP for converting RAW and PS7 for cropping, resizing, sharping etc.. However, I now use Lightroom and occasionally PS7. Lightroom can handle RAW, JPEGS and TIFFs, and I even use it with TIFFs from scanned negatives. It also allows you to catalogue images.

I use elements 5 for my Canon XTi RAW images. love it....PS seems to daunting....E5 suits me well
