Just curious. What would I gain with the 28 Elmarit ASPH over the CV 28/3.5 other than another stop? I remember someone shooting both and sharing results but I can't find that thread.

I did a comparison ages ago and found that the Elmarit ASPH has sharper corners at all apertures and better flare resistance. While the sharpness difference is only small (the Skopar is really good considering how little they cost new compared to the Elmarit ASPH), I found the Skopar can flare quite badly in some situations whereas I'm yet to make the Elmarit ASPH flare anymore than this:
