I don't know if this has been posted already, but there is an interesting article in the NY Times about the retirement of Elsa Dorfman, who shoots portraits using a 20x24 Polaroid camera.

I was surprised that there are any materials left to work with to keep these cameras going. So the story brought a smile to my face.

Years ago I met Tracy Storer at a Calumet Camera store event...he later relocated to the Calumet store in San Francisco...while working in the Bay area I visited him at the store and he showed me some of his work...he had just had one of his photographs featured on the cover of View Camera...I saw that same photo in his studio...he had one of the 20x24 Polaroid cameras and I was privileged to watch as he created some beautiful portraits...

"Life at 34" is genial, the rest is just blah.

I remember an article in Pop Photo or Modern Photography when the Polaroid 20x24 was introduced. Even in magazine reproduction I was mesmerized.

... and, I doubt that viewing on the web is even comes close to being even barely adequate to appreciate a 20x24 Polaroid. I've never seen one in the flesh; I would be interested to hear more from Sam about his experience.

A few years ago I had opportunity to be present when a photographer whose name I have forgotten, hmm getting old
used this camera for a portrait of the italian journalist Enzo Biagi (this name I remember!).
Interesting experience, wow the quality, the look of the prints is really something!
