Hello all, I've just bought an Ensign Selfix 20 model 5 with f4.5 Ensar lens.

I was wondering if anyone could please tell me what size of lens hood it takes? It looks to me to be either 35mm or 36mm.

Another question is how to fit the lens hood in, considering the "Infinity pin"(?) is so close the the lens barrel? I tried a 37mm push on hood, but not only was it a bit too big, I couldn't get it to fit between the pin and the lens barrel. This pin thing is rather taller than it needs to be and seems to be getting in the way.

Any help anyone c an provide would be much appreciated.

Hello, is anybody there? Is anybody there? Knock once for "Yes" and twice for "No"!

Anyway, I've still not found out what size hood/filters I'll need, but I have measured the width of the lens body and it looks like 35mm, but will that be the size of the hood I'll need?

I'll wait to buy anything until I've had the shutter looked at.

Another problem is how close the "stop-pin"(??) is to the outside of the lens, I'm not sure there'll be enough room to even fit a lens hood even though the manual does recommend the fitting of a lens hood. I'll probably have to use some sand-paper on the "stop-pin"(??) to create a gap.

I'd know if the "stop-pin" is actually called that if the manual didn't use the f7.7 version which hasn't got any ruddy "stop-pin" thingy.

I've been given a free blue 35mm push-on colour-correction filter, and it seems to be the right size, it just needs the tabs bending a little to tighten up the fit. However I could only get it on as there are big gaps between the pairs of tabs which are used to make the filter fit snugly, and so I could avoid the bit on the lens that is right next to the "stop-pin".

So it looks like I'll have to use some sandpaper on the stop-pin to create enough space for use of filters and lens hood.
