Hey Guys,

I just thought I would share this with you all. I am a Leica/Konica user mostly, but I have always admired the Canon line. My local store had a good deal on a Canon VT kit. I went in a couple of times and debated myself: "Should I tell RF forum, or just buy it myself?" Well, sorry, I bought it. It is a Canon VT in great shape (speeds accurate, finder bright, everything in good working order (at least it appears to be...I will test tonight). It came with the leather everyready case in perfect shape (no rot or anything) and both a 35/1.8 and 100mm/3.5 in awesome condition with its case. The 100 does not look like it has been used at all, and the 35 has a view cleaning marks, but is really very clean. It also came with the funky bulb style flash, and the case for the flash. The whole kit was on consignment for 500 dollars. Seeing as I have seen the 100mm lens alone go for 250 in worse condition than the one that I got, I figured it was a great deal. Even if I decide I don't like it, I can surely sell it, probably at a profit. I am looking forward to joining the dark side...
In any case, here are some pics:

awesome!

it looks great and those are 2 highly sought after lenses.

i'm finding hard not to hate at this moment...please don't tell me you paid 250 for the whole kit or i may have to hurt you.;)

Hahaha, no, it was 500 for the kit, but I still thought it was a good deal.

that is still a pretty good deal.

both lenses are known for sharpness, especially the 100/3.5 and the camera looks very nice. that 35/1.8 is what the famous 35/2 is based on and at smaller apertures i have read there is little to no difference.
very nice, yes, so very nice...so very nice for YOU!
sorry, got carried away...

Thanks guys, I have come to the conclusion that I am a functional collector. I like collecting cameras and now have many (9 or 10?), but they all serve their purpose and I love using them all. I have been tempted by the 100mm lens for a long time, so I was very pleased to find one along with such a unique (to me) camera. I had heard a little bit about the VT, but I was really shocked to see how bright the viewfinder is! It is small and gold toned, but bright and contrasty. I really like the way the magnification switches. Is there any way to get a good idea how to frame for the 100? Is the RF function alone too much magnification?
