What does the 1V do that your 1 doesn't?

Seems like a waste of money. Develop your backlog of film and stay on target. More and better photos, not more and better bodies.

If you're itching to spend some money, it is usually better spent on glass or travel, which will get you more photo opps and hence more good photos. You'll thank me later, as I was you, 25 years ago. ;-)

Love to travel. Do a lot of that as it is.

Actually moving to Texas next year with the goal of spending the following years more or less as a nomad. That’s the goal anyhow. Life may have other plans we will see.

My girlfriend has made it her goal to get me a 1V.

The 1V has multi spot metering, virtually no mirror slap, film imprinting between frames, virtually no shutter lag, up to 10 fps with the booster, super fast 45 point autofocus, full compatibility with modern speedlights and its the pinnacle of Canon‘s film cameras!

And if you are at the "sports cars stage of that crisis", then your "young time" is running out.

Nice! About 10-12 years ago I decided I would purchase a Leica M and a 1V and shoot film with the best cameras that I could, while I still could. I do not regret it at all. I think you will enjoy the 1V.
