Pondering... once again... a EOS 1v
Frig it right?
I enjoy my 5D and the old EOS 1’s so a 1v only seems logical.
I’m shooting more film (or atleast shooting up more of my stock) and it’s got me thinking I need something shiny and new with the definite appeal of a sport car to a middle age man in a life crisis..
I think that’s me!
So is it worth the money... and who has one for me!

The 5D feels like a toy in comparison to the 1V. If the price is right go get it.

No doubt the EOS 1V is Canon's best film SLR. An excellent tool.
And as you already have EF lenses, I think it is a no-brainer.
Get one and enjoy it!
The time point now in the Corona crisis is probably the best to buy one. They will not get any cheaper.
With the economy recovering in the next months, and the film revival getting back on track the prices will probably be higher in 12-24 months compared to now.
Cheers, Jan

I had similar chunk, if not the same, with AF driven by eye. I used it with 50L EF. It was best AF camera I ever used. Sold it fairly quick due to its enormous size and went back to EOS300. It works, except its plastic mount loosing contact with heavy L zooms.

I have one. GREAT camera. I don’t really use it as I mostly moved away from EOS to RFs and Sony. But man that is an awesome camera. I imagine the F6 is similar.

I had thought about the EOS 3... but I’ve gotta have the BEST!
Plus. I think I’m done buying cameras after this.
I want to learn printing and spend more of my time on the prints as well as catching up on my back log of films to develop.

This eye controlled focus is something that makes me consider EOS 3. I know - some people say it is just a gimmick, but some opinions are - it’s quite neat...

I had the EOS1n-RS (with the pellicle mirror). Sold it a few months later. For me the best is the EOS-5.
I suppose the 1v is an improvement over the EOS1n-RS.

Haha. I was wondering if anyone would catch those famous last words.
Winner winner chicken dinner Huss! Lmao
I’m too young for lasts.
But I DO want to get better at printing and either forget the backlog or take some time off work to really get drunk on the sauce.

I have on because I have a lot of canon glass. The thing is a TANK of a camera. The AF is amazing and it’s customizable to a degree. I use it for low light stuff like concerts etc. Truly a stellar camera

Buy one and use it. Life is far too short to wonder, "what if?"
