EOS shooter curious about the F100 and the F6

For all the above mentioned possible problems with the F100, it's still the best Nikon I've ever owned. And I've had ten other models.

BTW, to fix the sticky back, you first clean it with some 90% isopropyl alcohol, then douse it liberally with some ArmorAll Original Protectant, and let that sit for a week or so. No more stickies.

On an N90, it's best to just keep cleaning it with the alcohol, and thus remove the coating as it's not like the formed cover of the F100/N80. I put a piece of tape over the icons on the N90 to preserve them.

Remove the door from the camera body before starting the cleaning.
