Hi,
has somebody recently bought the new 4490 ( ICE) and had any kind of of probs while installing it on a XP Pro ?? machine ?
I just ask BEFORE i will install mine. Something one should NOT do ? I think installing the software first is important. Some first experieinces maybe ?
Thanks !

Installed and used the 4490 for a bit more than 3 months. No problem at install and running the thing ... I use the provided software.

Great, thanks for that quick reply ! Do you have some 4490 scans (35mm or prints or MF ) posted anywhere in the web ? In your gallery maybe ?

Everything on my blog is scanned using the 4490 ... Doesn't really help you since the pictures are rather small but I've printed 8x10 and 11x14 without problem ! .. I have some croped image on my Canon f/1.2 test.

That means you scanned negs, not prints ? Looks very good, better than I would expect it to be with a flatbed. !! I must get mine running asap. It is thought for 35mm ,negs or prints for web presentations only and maybe for scanning MF negs for printing too.
Thanks again !

Not so new now.
I have one running on a Mac, using the supplied software. The film scanning is superior to print scanning, and black and white/slides are better than color negatives.
No issues.

Great, glad to hear B&W works nice, many flatbeds have probs with B&W .
Thanks !
