It seems that 35mm film scanner I have used a long time, will be taken back by kind people who let me to use it...so now I'm researching replacement for it.

As I mostly scan my 35mm film at 1000dpi and use 600x400 pictures on web, I guess, flatbed below hi-end is what I'm looking for. After reading RFF archives, I have come to idea about Epson V300. Seems not bad for cheap flatbed, and people praise software.

But then I think how Canon's slim LED-based scanners compared to V300? They look very similar, using LEDs instead of lamp. Any opinion on how they compare - hints from users who already have ate this dog, could be useful as similarly priced scanners will deliver close results, but nuances are what make some things better than others. My mind is open for new experience :)

Have found some diffs: Lide 500f/600f/700f have dust removal function, while Epson sports it on adult models only, not V300. I still shoot color negs so FARE (Canon's version of ICE) would be good. Lide models are called flimsy. Dedicated scanners are expensive and hard to find used.
