I've been a dedicated film shooter for years, with a particular interest in panoramic work...XPan and Widelux, specifically.

Recently got a v700 up and running, and love the results. But a significant portion of my work is pano.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to scan these odd-size negs on an Epson v700? Thanks for any suggestions, all.

Did you get the Film Area Guide ? It came with my V-700 and works well for me with
odd size films up to 8" x 10" your negative / transparency sits on the glass

Did you not get the standard 35mm film guide with the scanner? This works perfectly well with X-Pan negs.

I use 5 x 4 black card presentation mounts with the X - pan format aperture cut in them. I mount the X-Pan negs in the 5 x4 cards which the fit in the 5 x 4 holder for the scanner.

Mount the neg in the upper of the two apertures in the Epson 5 x 4 holder and blank off the lower aperture with black card or paper.

works for me !

I did use the holder that came with my scanner...I'd only used it for the first time, ever, with these negatives.

So far, it's worked well but after doing a few dozen images I do believe I'll look into Betterscanning's anti-newton glass cover, to keep the negs extra flat.

Thanks, all.
