Mine will arrive on Monday. I want to keep my digital workflow, so I will scan all negatives and arrange/alter in Aperture/PS.
Are there aftermarket 35mm and 120 bulk film holders that do a better job than the stock holders? I will be doing wet scans on Nikon, so only need the bulk holders for the Epson.
It seems that the best real world resolution is around 2400dpi, but how is this best resolution achieved? Do I simply set the software to 2400dpi, or do I scan at 6000dpi and then process via software? I have a very fast system and I don't mind the time.
Can I get the maximum Dmax of 4.0 with the included software, or do I need to buy new software and can this max work when bulk scanning?
What software works best for bulk scan... ie. 24 35mm negatives?
What scanner and negative clean regime do you use?
Thanks

Doug Fisher makes aftermarket holders. They aren't bulk holders.
I use Epson Scan so I can't address your software questions.
A can of air, an anti-static brush and a microfiber cloth. About every 6 months I clean the undersides of the two pieces of scanner glass. I also keep a plastic cover on the scanner.

Good link... He does have a bulk 120 holder, but not 35mm.
His sample comparing the regular holder to his set for the actual focus distance seems impressive. For less than $90 for the medium format holder, it just might be worth the money, if these results hold.
