Posting this in case someone here might be interested, though I realize that might be a very limited audience.
Reading the table of contents in the link within the link looks like it might be a worthwhile book (to those of Leica inclination), and his books usually do sell out fairly quickly.
His Pocket Guide is new-ish as well.

Bought it. No sales resistance.

I just don't understand the reason to buy what is basically a catalog with one person's opinion. I suppose they appeal to collectors.

The best camera is one that still works!

I tend to see him as being to writing what Leica is to photography ... though I tend to think that Leica have left him behind a little.

Don't know if book succeed in its attempt to focus on Leica photography in this century, but its a good attempt. Enough material circulates already about Leica in 1930's, 50's or 80's.

Phil,
After having read his blog discursions and his lens analyses on and off for three or four years now, and having found them to be educational and occasionally thought provoking, and almost vital as a source for information helpful in making buying decisions when evaluating different Leica lens iterations, I am guessing this will be more akin to an encyclopedia than a catalog. It’s true that, outside of the lens data, most of what he writes is just one person’s opinion, his, but he has an analytical and wide ranging mind, which seems to me sharper than most, so there’s that.
People familiar with his writing either enjoy it or don’t, and buy his books accordingly. Personally, I find him more interesting than most, and don’t mind his tendency to indulge in discussions which might occasionally seem longer than absolutely necessary, so I ordered a copy, as it sounded like a fairly comprehensive and up to date summation. A present to myself. We’ll see.
Apparently these shipped last week.
