the poll is not a bad idea per se (very democratic!), but there's the possibility that the voters won't join the meeting so the actual partecipants risk to meet up in place they did not really choose ...

I see the last meeting was in April; we're planning on going on a cruise from Barcelona in April, so there's actually a chance we could make this.

Nico and Lluis are right - we had this poll / vote thing for the Berlin meet and, save two, all those who voted it in never turned up!

(Nothing against Berlin, it was great, but it's too easy to vote here and decide the fate of those who are going to put their time and money down for the meet actual).

How about this poll makes love to itself and a decision is reached organically in the other thread?

Hmmm...there could be a story in there somewhere!

I had no intention of this being taken very seriously, just to give us a rough feel for where we might end up!

Give the poll some love Kully, it's Christmas for heaven's sake...it was never intended to be serious, definitive or binding in perpetuity. Of course I'm sure we're all in favour of anything organic...

Well, there are loads of b+b's or small hotels if one books early enough. I stayed on the campsite last year and that worked very well - it was within easy walking distance of the town-centre and my plan of hiring a bike (from the campsite) was unnecessary. A leisurely swim in the pool after breakfast, within 20m of the tent, was quite pleasant. 🙂

Now I should be sensible and go and look at Kully's thread.
