I enjoy it when others create threads here sharing their own photography. After some thought I thought that I might follow suit. I have only visited Europe twice, both times in the 1990s. During both trips I shot slide film exclusively using a Minolta XD11 mounted with a Minolta MD Zoom 28-85 mm lens (f3.5-4.5). I really enjoyed my XD11, but sadly it suffered from electronic failures more than once. Twice I had it fixed (the first time under warranty by Minolta), but when it failed a third time I finally retired it. Had this not happened I would likely still be using the camera today.

Thus far I have only scanned slides from my 1991 trip so those are what I'll be sharing here first. That trip lasted for a month during the Autumn timeframe and my buddy Bill joined me for the first three weeks. We bought Eurail passes and got around via trains, subways, buses, and the kindness of strangers with cars. Sadly I did not document my slides in any way (shame on me), so I will be relying on what is left of my memory from that trip. Some places I still remember well, other places not so much. These are in no particular order other than the file names that I assigned to them. I'll try to share what details I can. During my '91 trip I used only Kodachrome film.

Me and my buddy Bill outside of Zermatt, Switzerland in front of the Matterhorn. While they looked nice viewed via a projector or on a light table, darker lides like this one really gave me a really tough time when it came to scanning and post processing. I had brought a very small travel tripod with me for shots like this. (I learned the hard way that when folded up the travel tripod looked much like a gun when it was traveling through the x-ray devices in airports.)

In the '90s I had the same hoodie as your friend Bill! I loved it...
