I became very passionate about beer as a young man and was brewing my own back in the 1980s as good ales were nearly impossible to find in Texas (where I was living) at that time. So dropping in on some pubs was high on my list of priorities when visiting London. This is the Prospect of Whitby — one of London's oldest pubs.

Those type of "memories threads" are by a good margin the best threads of the whole forum.

Somewhere in London. It's a shame that I can't remember more.

Fine memories. One of the many times I visited the UK on business in the 1990s, I was gifted a Burton Bitter towel by a friendly barkeep. It hangs with distinction in my darkroom. To this day, I have never found a better brew than an English bitter.
